Lynea was born and raised in Oak Ridge, NJ. She completed her undergraduate degree at Ramapo College of New Jersey in2011, earning a B.S. in Mathematics with a minor in Psychology. Upon graduating, Lynea went on to earn a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy at the University of Southern California in 2013. After completing an intensive graduate program with clinical rotations in geriatric and pediatric care, Lynea earned her National Board Registration from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) as an Occupational Therapist Registered (OTR).
She has continued to refine her knowledge and practice skills within the areas of Sensory Integration, DIR/ Floortime theory, executive functioning skills, and has received Handwriting Without Tears certification. Lynea has written and led in-service trainings for colleagues on understanding and supporting sensory processing needs and fine motor skills within the school and home environments. She has experience in creating effective sensory diets to support regulation of sensory input within a child’s daily routines. Lynea has worked with children and adults within a variety of clinical settings, including outpatient sensory clinic, inpatient rehabilitation facility, early intervention therapy, in-home therapy, and school-based therapy. She has experience evaluating and treating children and adolescents ages 3-21 within the areas of fine motor, gross motor, visual perceptual, visual-motor integration, self-care, executive functioning, and sensory processing skills. Lynea maintains clinical licensure by attending professional conferences every year, focusing on improving evidenced-based best practice within her therapeutic environments. Lynea currently lives in Rockaway, NJ with her husband and two dogs.
