Richard Mak is a licensed physical therapist in both New York and New Jersey. Richard works with a variety of sports injuries and post-operative patients, such as rotator cuff repairs and ACL injuries, in addition to general orthopedic conditions and chronic pain. He also has specialized training in evaluating neck and back patients with the McKenzie Institute as a Certified Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (cert MDT) provider. Richard has taken numerous continuing education courses involving hands on therapy to compliment his McKenzie certification.
Richard went to the Graduate Center at the City University of New York (CUNY) earning his Doctorate of Physical Therapy. He has practiced in private outpatient orthopedic settings, working both as a physical therapist and the director of the clinics, prior to joining the team at Riverwalk.
Richard is a martial artist that trains in Muay Thai along with weight training. His active lifestyle helps him understand the physical demands needed for patients to return to all the activities they enjoy. Richard enjoys working with a wide variety of patients from office workers to athletes to help them fully reach their goals.
